One of 32Red’s regular poker players ‘M_Ederz’ has decided to set an exciting challenge for himself, and has kindly allowed us to document his progress…

M_Ederz in action!

M_Ederz, €100 and 4-Hours…

M_Ederz will start with a €100 Bankroll and play in 4x 1-hour sessions…each session with a bankroll of €25.  His €25 bankroll will be split into 5x €5 stacks which he will multi-table on €0.05/€0.10 stakes.  The question now is…will he have made money at the end of the 4 hours?  …or not?

  1. After the 1st hour…

After his first session, M_Ederz has left the tables with a total profit of €5.18, bringing his total bankroll up to €105.18. Here’s what M_Ederz had to say…

    ———————–

“An interesting hour for me! I have often considerd myself a “social player”, I simply play for fun becausei love the game. Multi-tabling, even at low stakes like 0.05/0.10, has certainly opened my eyes. The difference between the good and bad hands you see is like night and day! I found myself folding all the rubbish hands and sometimes even the relatively decent hands preflop, purely because I was concentrating on 5 tables at once.

I started off reasonably well, i was recieving hands like AK AQ AJ and playing them quite sensibly. I folded when i hadn’t hit at least a pair, and folded gutshot straight draws to a bet that i felt was too much to call. During the first hour i was dealt pocket Aces three times. The table folded on two of these occasions as well as folding to my 4x minimum raise! :(

I made some silly mistakes as I was trying to get out of my style of play, playing hands like 67 offsuit and hitting a draw which i chased. I missed and lost a few euros in the process, something i need to try to stop doing in the next hour. Of course i had a couple of badbeats as well, but hey its poker, you cant win em all right? I never used to think like this when i played with all my eggs in one basket, but now being on 5 tables i find it easier to recoupe what I lose in bad beat situations, which I find has improved my game already. Round 2…!”

  2. After the 2nd hour…

After his 2nd session, M_Ederz has run his €105.18 bankroll down to €65.75 suffering a loss of €39.43. Here’s what M_Ederz had to say…

“A very disapointing round… I lost 40 Euros! I don’t know what happened, i just could not do a thing right…like having QQ against the short stack, i raised 5x big blind to 0.50 he had 3.00 or something and i had 7 Euros…. flop came 8 J Q and i bet 1 Euro, he goes all in and i instantly call…low and behold he shows 9 10! Many similar hands, and I now go into hour 3 with less than I had hoped :(

  3. After the 3rd hour…

After his 3rd session, M_Ederz dropped down to his last €25, suffering a loss of €40.75. Here’s what M_Ederz had to say…

“More disapointing than the 2nd hour….. i took it up to 0.10/0.20 on 4 tables and nothing i did was right, i got caught representing a flush to someone calling me with 2 pair…a 20 Euro pot i would have liked to have taken down!!!…..Not too sure how the 4th hour is going to plan out, but i am hoping to make this one profitable for a change.”

    Best of luck M_Ederz!

  4. After the 4th hour…

After his 4th and last session, M_Ederz brought his bankroll up to €55.89. Here’s what M_Ederz had to say…

“A very good round this time, i more than doubled what i started with. I started the hour with 25 Euros and finished with around 55 Euros playing 0.05/0.10 NL. I had some very good hands within the hour and for once i really enjoyed playing. I started off a bit rocky, losing a relatively big pot with AK vs QQ but I picked it back up grinding the pots and hitting some good straight draws and finished the session on a high.

Overall i am down 46 euros but it could be worse. I am going to continue a little bit longer and ill let you know if i finish on a profit.”

Thanks M_Ederz, and good luck at the tables!

hi M_Ederz , good luck with your challange , I see you play with 5$ at the table aka 50 BB , You could try to play with at least 100BB , you loose a lot of value when playing short staked , anyway 4 hour results are kinda luck based , a more conclusive result would be after 40-100 hours ;)
