I feel this torny is losing it identity and specialness, bounties are an after thought due to prize money on offer and having the torny bi=weekly is not enough to keep it in peoples minds….
Perhaps it would be better to go back to a weekly $1000 guaranteed tournament and use any other funds available to have more 32red specials as you used to do to keep the interest going, personally I miss the games on a Friday night you used to have and the other mid week games….
Hi James, thanks for this. I’m happy to discuss further…
Does anyone else have anything to add?
Cheers,
Nick
Well james is quite right about the bountys being second in priorities , I myself had the oportunity to raise a pot and scoop the 100$ bounty when it was clear he would go all-in with a couple of blinds left , but we were too close to the money , a big stack was in the big blind and didn’t want to risk loosing any chips having a very good position to gain chips from other players and maybe win this , wich I eventualy did
, I was a bit upset of my decision at first but moneywise it was a good decision
To make more tournaments with small prizepools would only chase away some of the regulars , I myself if I wouldn’t of won it 2 days ago , after playing a few months at it , waiting for the big win, seing the prizepool go down fron 5k to 1k would of realy dissapointed me.
The best thing would be to make the bountys more appetising to the players , maybe from the allready massive prizepool of 5k take 500$ extra form it for bountys (it is the Be The Bounty after all) and eigther spred it on 5 players , or keep the 3 players but with very big bountys on them (lets say a 750$ bounty prizepool with 100$ 3′rd , 250$ second 400$ first) , they should realy get piked on like this
Also as you get closer to the money the value of the bountys related to the prizepool decreases dramaticly , so I think winning double the bounty after second brake would be interesting (if posible) , or some kind of jackpot sistem with some extra money (maybe 100$ each) on every bounty for after 2 hour elimination, when no bounty gets that far the jackpot builds up for next week , when a bounty eventualy gets to the second brake the jackpot is puts an aditional bounty(eavenly split) on the bountys that remain , also the bountys should maybe receive a 1000-2000 redback aditional bonus for geting that far .
this should make the bountys pretty tasty , while keeping a delicious prizepool and a lot of action , a recepy for success or at least a lot of fun , what do you think Nick?
I have to agree with Wolf on this one I’m afraid – lowering the prize pool would only be taking a step back in my opinion, although I too hate the fact that we’ve had to cut it from weekly to bi-weekly. Still, it’s the only feisible way I could justify costs.
I particularly like the idea of increasing the bounty prizes and will take a decision on this today, so your feedback is vital! I’m thinking…
Change $150 bounty to $500
Change $100 bounty to $300
Change $50 bounty to $200
I look forward to your comments…
2 words : uber cool
)
Thanks guys, let’s do this.
this new bounty format sounds good Nick. as everyone says puts more value on getting on of the bounties
oh forgot one thing , if the bountys get bigger I guess the back to back win prize will be bigger as well , as the first place bounty will be larger now than the back to back prize
I don’t like that if the bounty is “sitout” the one who get it don’t get a single $. I think it must at least get a free entry to the next tourney as I risk entire my stack in allin situation to get the “sitout”
I don’t see why the other two players get additional 75$ in this case without risking anything
Hi Nick,
I didnt think it was possible to raise the bounty prize as we discussed this before, but the new ones sound good to me and re-addresse’s the balance of what the torny is meant to be about…..
Well done badwolf in winning this one, get the beers in…!!!….lol
I’m not too keen on rewarding a player who knocks out a ‘sitout’ bounty, am I wrong in thinking this way?
There are 3 bounties available. If one of them fails to turn up, I think it’s only fair that the remaining 2 bounties get rewarded even more (appearance fees) for having to carry the ‘burden’ of a bigger bounty prize on their heads. I thought we we’re all ok with this rule, but I’m happy to discuss more…
James, I hear you! Back when we initially discussed raising bounty prizes, we weren’t grabbing the bounty money from the actual guaranteed prize pool, as we do now. For example, where as before we were running a $3000 prize pool + $300 in bounties, we’re now running a $4,000 prize pool with $1,000 in bounties – if you know what I mean.
I can’t wait to see who knocks BadWolfOne for $500 – or if he manages to win it himself!
Hi Nick,
Ah right I see, thanks for the explanation…..
I think the way the bounties are when one or two don’t turn up is fine, I suppose it could happen that all 3 don’t turn up and that could be a problem, but I can’t remember it ever happening and I have played in this since the very start…..
I know some sites appoint another player as a bounty if one doesnt turn up, thats an option I suppose, but it means more work for 32red and in my experience its a pain waiting around to find out who the bounty is and at least with 32red’s way you know what to do from the start and its clear…..
I can’t see many players folding even with 72 if badwolf goes all in and they have him covered……lol…….I think the bounty prizes now make it exciting again……thanks for listening Nick……
I think the new bounty tourny with higher bounties is perfect Nick.
It will increase the number of entrants as it gives all a great chance of a decent payday even if they dont make the money places as they can still knockout a bounty player.
Way to go mate kudos to you!!

Hear what ya saying Nick however its not really fair on the guy who has paid his $15 and played to forfeit the bounty he has taken because its a sitout.
Thanks pomp,
Difficult one though, as we can never be sure who’s going to turn up to the game and who isn’t – even if they give us notice in advance – plans change.
If there is a ‘better’ solution, I’m all ears!
If the bounty is a sit out then the rules are very clear it is not a bounty and therefore there is no point risking your chips to knock him / her out…..or am I missing something here?
There could be a problem if the bounty didn’t turn up in time to be included as a bounty, but did turn up in time to have enough chips left to play in the game, that would be a problem as that would not be clear unless all players were informed of that, that the person was not a bounty……
Yep, that is indeed still a problem scenario, but one I can live with
Hi Nick,
Did I miss something? There was no tourney at all last night and whilst I know that BTB is bi-weekly I thought you were going to run a freeroll between times.
I’m not saying I’m on cold turkey, just getting desperate for a half-decent game!
Regards,
malcb
Hello there! i think it would be nice to have the btb every week again, how about making the prizepool a little less and run it ones or even tvice a week like it was before. maybe it could be 1K in bountys and 1K in prizepool and we could run it tvice a week? any one else thinking that could be a good idea?
