Jelassi Too Good for San Remo IPT
Swedish youngster, Ramzi Jelassi, has won the San Remo leg of the Italian Poker Tour. Jelassi is one of the more popular faces on the European poker circuit and claims several creditable cash results, in major poker tournaments, to his name.
A delighted Jelassi takes €170,000 back to Stockholm but the high stakes pro’ will surely be even happier with the first major win of his career. He enthused; “Easy Game. Had Q-Q as my best hand yesterday, which I lost, never any A-A or K-K. Owned them all the way and had a little bit of luck on the final table when I won the important all-in situations.”
Jelassi is set to head to Barcelona for the next leg of the European Poker Tour. We’ll have all the results from there here at our poker blog.
Paul Zimbler’s World Record Heads Up Poker Attempt
UK poker professional, Paul Zimbler, has his sights set on one of the toughest mental and physical world records. The Heads Up Poker world record currently stands at 74 hours and 12 minutes. Dave Cain, the current record holder, was aiming for 100 hours of continuous play but the attempt had to be cut short after Cain suffered severe health problems shortly after the record was broken.
Zimbler’s attempt at the record will take place during the World Series of Poker Europe. Annette Obrestad, Sorel Mizzi and Sammy George are set to take on Zimbler. All proceeds will go to the charity SPARKS and a target of £5,000 has been set.
