APT Success for 32Red Star
Our APT satellite winner made an instant impact at the APT itself with a big money finish in his first (yes, first!) live poker event. Sitting amongst the likes of Johnny Chan and battling for a multi-million dollar prizepool, our man Emanuel - you may know him has Baygon at the 32Red Poker tables - kept his cool as he played his way to a 24th place finish and a more than tasty $10,000 payout.
After a gruelling 19 hour journey to Macau you’d have thought Baygon would have simply hit the hay to get his poker sleep, but no, instead he hit the tables to get some firsthand live poker experience. After arriving in the dream-like Macau courtesy of 32Red Poker, our man battled it out until 4am to get a feel for the offline game, rising at 8:30am to begin the biggest poker game of his life. Our kinda guy!
After a bad run of pocket cards, Emanuel bided his time until he made his move 8 hours and 50 minutes into day 1. In his own words:
“I looked down to see King Hearts Ace Clubs, so I go all in for 8.7K on the button. The small blind calls in a flash and so does the guy in seat number 7. The flop comes: 7s 8c 9c. The Small blinds goes all in and the guy in seat 7 folds. The small blind shows Q diamonds Q spades. I’m thinking to my self ‘I’m out!’ The Turn: Jc River 3c. Then there were a few sounds of people gasping, one very load cheer and a huge sigh. I now have 26,900 in chips with 1hour of play left”
This set the 32Red Poker man up for the rest of the tournament, and after taking a few more pots, eventually finished well inside the bubble for a big $10,000 pay day. So after free flights, seat buy in and accommodation from us, his APT experience was topped off with a money finish against some of the game’s biggest players - what a first live poker experience for Emanuel!
