Blog Freeroll- the report

The 32Red Blog freeroll was a good success, and alot of fun to play in. I hope everyone really enjoyed it, but one man that is sure to have done so is the winner levif4, many congratulations to him! Read on for my detailed report

I had a starting table that included sppokwbp, 1FoldNow, zupergee, shiroVT, 1ptil3or, ROGUE63, U2STU, chezall, and GAEL32RED, and I was ready to gamble it up, and make a few rebuys. However, the action was fairly tight, and the play very good. In fact, I was impressed with the standard of play throughout, particularly given it was a freeroll. The thing I did notice was that alot of the players were fairly passive, preferring to limp into my pots rather than raise the action. I would suggest, if you have a hand you are willing to play, try to raise it more often that not. This way, you take the initiative in the pot and give yourself two ways to win- either by making the best hand, or by having everyone fold to your aggression.

I had a very active first half hour, including hitting a fluky flop of 10d10c8d when I held 107 in the small blind. The action was fast, and three 3,000+ stacks flew into the middle. I had flopped gin against the AA of GAEL32RED, but would have to sweat against the A6 flush draw of U2STU. The board brought two blanks, and bizarrely I became the chip leader for a few moments!

I went into the break with an 11,000 stack, but emerged from it aware of the danger that I was now the $50 Bounty. I didn’t play too well, and seemed to miss every flop as my stack went dwindling down to 4k. Then, I picked up K8 of spades on the button, and commited myself for my stack. The action would be four way, but I hit nothing on the board, and knew that someone would be claiming the bounty. The successful player was PentagonA3, whose AQ had hit an ace high board- many congratulations to him!

And so I could watch, as spookwbp took the chip lead to the final table. He had some bad luck, and left a heads up battle between levif4 and PentagonA3, who would be claiming two different cashes in the same tournament. The chip lead was traded a few times, before levif4 emerged the winner.

So, many thanks to everyone, and watch this space for the next blog freeroll soon.

Well done to the winner, levif4 and to PentagonA3 for the bounty prize. Stuart, thanks for getting involved and, yup, watch for more from the 32Red Poker Blog soon.

Don’t forget, you can ask Stuart questions here: http://www.32redpokerblog.com/category/ask-stuart-rutter/, and if you played against him last night then I’m sure he’ll be happy to run through your game in more detail.

Its was a good game, My game went pretty much as yours did. I had 11k at first break and then afterward things went wrong couldnt hit on the flops. And at the end i was in that 4 way battle with my QJ hearts. I thought i could get lucky when the Queen came on the turn but as you said PentagonA3 had the Queen as well but with ace kicker. I was a bit gutted but not to much because it was a good. Hope another is put together soon. It was a very enjoyable game. Thanks Brynaldo
